Locked down to Logged on.
Back in 2020, everything changed fast. People went from living mostly offline to doing almost everything online—working, socializing, shopping, and trying to make money. At the time, it felt temporary. It wasn’t.
Now in 2026, that shift is still very real. A lot of people never fully went back to how things were before. Instead, they leaned harder into online life—starting streams, launching small digital businesses, gaming, creating content, and trying to carve out income wherever they could.
But here’s the part people don’t talk about enough: the more people moved online, the more crowded everything got. Now in 2020 it was fine because the exponential growth supported everyone. Streaming, gaming, content creation—it all exploded. And when everyone is trying to earn in the same space, the opportunities don’t grow at the same pace. Lasting into 2026 they all get diluted. The same if not smaller pie, just split more ways.
So now, a lot of people aren’t doubling down on online income because they’re passionate about it—they’re doing it because they must. Costs are up, debt is heavier, and with everything going on globally, stability feels harder to find. For many, the internet isn’t just an opportunity anymore—it’s a lifestyle, a necessity.
At the same time, being this connected has quietly changed how we live. It’s easier than ever to stay home, avoid crowds, and build a life that exists mostly through a screen. For some, that’s freedom. For others, it’s just the new normal.
Either way, the ripple effects from 2020 didn’t fade—they compounded. With AI everywhere this is becoming exponential. Not sure how this goes but Im feeling like we are in a pivotal spot that could exploded into some great opportunities.
