Thoughts aren’t Everything

People been speculating about this for years but with so much social media out there these days its clear how the words you see and the words you think drive the world you experience. The quiet, constant dialogue happening in their own mind is not just A thing, its THE thing.

The words you think and the words you say out loud aren’t just reactions to reality. They’re filters. They shape how you interpret situations, how you respond to opportunities, and even what you believe is possible for yourself. If you constantly tell yourself something won’t work, or that you’re not the type of person who succeeds in a certain way, you’ve already narrowed your path before you’ve even taken a step.

There’s this idea that you’re supposed to know what works for you before you do it. But that’s not how life actually plays out. You don’t figure yourself out by thinking harder.

Gotta take action and see what happens. Stepping into situations that feel unfamiliar, uncomfortable, or even slightly out of character. Sometimes you’ll be right. Sometimes you’ll be completely wrong. Either way you will have an experience and learn something real.

That’s the part people avoid. Because trying means RISK of failure or any number of other imagined deterrents. All of it is stepping outside the version of yourself you’ve already defined clearly by thinking about it 100 different ways. Without the risk and the action nothing really changes. You just keep reinforcing the same patterns and calling it “who you are.”

Expanding your mind expands your options. Your perception of what is even possible is orders of magnitude smaller than reality itself.

If you’ve only ever approached life one way for 10,20,30 years. Your brain assumes that’s the only way it works. The moment you expose yourself to something different a new environment, a new mindset, a new way of thinking your perceptions offers multitudes you didnt even imagine previously.

Back to the musical passions. When you hit that vibe, you go deep into some lyrics or just rip through some insta reels you experience things from new angles. Once revealed you can never unsee them. Either you try them to grow and expand your life or forever think about the missed possibilities reflecting without knowing.

Becoming yourself isn’t a static experience. It’s not one awakening or one change. It’s a constant stacking, experiencing and improving ways to manage your thoughts, perceptions and experiences. A lot of people think “being yourself” means staying consistent with who you’ve always been. It’s actually the opposite.

It’s about allowing yourself to evolve, test new ideas, change your mind and grow into something that ignites the fire of live inside your soul. The version of YOU that exists right now isn’t final. Life is just a fleeting moment constantly experienced. The version of YOU is just what you’ve believed up to this point.

You’re allowed to revise to make tomorrow better. Its a flow and you dont have to step into that same day ever again. YOU isnt something discovered like a mystery someone else wrote. It’s something you participate in creating in every moment with your thoughts and perceptions.

Sometimes the only way to find the version of YOU that actually works is to step into something new and see what happens. Maybe let some music prime your emotions and quell your fears.
