Who are you really?

Years ago I found a YouTube video that I couldn't stop watching. Its called “Who are you, really” it's a short spiritual speech by a teacher called Gangaji.

I watched it constantly. While stretching, while showering, doing yard work anything. The reason I was drawn to it was the emptiness of the question in the title.

As in the video you follow it truly to the source. Some sort of living doubt of reality. You can answer the question logically in a multitude of ways but that's not how it works.

Id done plenty of zen meditation and read Buddhist books but none of them really registered quite like this video had me awed with just single lines of the speech.

You really want to try and solve the question but existing in the doubt eventually collapses the “thinking". Now no matter how many times I watched I couldn’t force that drop. The blankness I was expecting.

No matter how ecstatic, awed or blissful I would get I was still doing the work. Truly enjoyed those times and sometimes use that " Who am I” in my meditations. I go back to that video sometimes today but as you will see with my next couple blogs its a different experience.

This is the link to the video. I suggest you watch with an open mind and patience. Who Are You…. Really?
